The study programme contains the traditional humanities subjects, but beyond that our study programme offers a focused insight into English-speaking cultures (English, Scottish, Irish, American, Canadian, and South African). We organise online and in-person events for our students related to Anglo-American, Irish and Canadian studies. We also offer personalised advice, consultations and mentoring to support your studies. And we also provide an international environment with ample guest speakers from abroad. Our Business English training module introduces students to the world of business and work, provides practical skills and helps them to deepen their understanding of the business world. The programme also opens the door to specialised translation and prose translation for those interested (literary prose translation workshop, translation of EU and business texts, etc.)

The English and American Studies BA is a practice-oriented liberal arts language programme. The aim of the bachelor programme is to train professionals who have a good knowledge of English language and culture, and can interpret, communicate, and produce written and oral texts involving critical understanding in English at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Higher Education in everyday, cultural, political, economic, social, linguistic, and literary studies. They can also manage, solve, and take responsibility for middle management level tasks in national and international organisations, companies, municipalities, cultural management, education, journalism, and public relations.
Degree holder has in-depth knowledge of the generally accepted features and data relating to the cultural history of the English language.

In the context of European integration, there is a great need for professionals with a wide range of skills and a good command of English, who can do research, think independently, think broadly and work effectively with the national and international cultural communities in the field of English Studies, in the fields of literature and linguistics, the written and electronic press, tourism, international communication, business and science. Students graduating from this programme will be well informed about the generally accepted characteristics and data of the historicity of English-language cultural phenomena. They are also able to interpret in context the rules and regulations relating to employment and business in English Studies.
