KJU Participates at the Reception Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Founding the People’s Republic of China and the Establishment of Hungarian-Chinese Diplomatic Relations

KJU’s Rector, Dr. h.c. Péter Szabó Ph.D and Director of International Relations, Ms. Éva Horváti were also honourably invited by Mr. Jielong Duan, His Excellency, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Hungary for the celebration of the "70th Anniversary of founding  the People’s Republic of China and the establishment of the Hungarian-Chinese diplomatic relations".

On Friday the 27th  of  September 2019, the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Hungary celebrated the 70th Anniversary of founding  the People’s Republic of China and the establishment of the Hungarian-Chinese diplomatic relations in Várkert Bazár, Budapest. More than 800 guests were invited to the reception, including Chinese and foreign envoy, Hungarian diplomats, overseas Chinese, Chinese companies, and so on. KJU’s Rector, Dr. h.c. Péter Szabó Ph.D and Director of International Relations, Ms. Éva Horváti were also honourably invited by Mr. Jielong Duan, His Excellency, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Hungary.

His excellency, Mr. Jielong Duan and First Officer of the Hungarian National Assembly, Ms. Márta Mátrai both expressed their congratulations for the commemoration to the 70th Anniversary and they further emphasised the importance of the relationship between the two countries. His Excellency, Mr. Duan stated that in order to create a better economy and environment for their citizens, they need to strengthen and enhance the relationship between China and Hungary.  Ms. Mátrai remarked the current scenery of the promoted economic, political and cultural environment in both countries is thanks to projects like “One Belt One Road”.

At the reception, a photo album and a video commemorated the history of Chinese- Hungarian diplomatic ties. Fragments of the dance drama Opera Warrior were showcased. The guests enjoyed the reception, and experienced authentic Chinese cuisine. Dr. Péter Szabó and Ms. Éva Horváti had good discussions with the invited guests, promoted Kodolányi János University and invited them to visit our institution, which shows our initiative to contribute to the Sino-Hungarian friendship.
