Mr. Péter Szendőfi, teacher of KJU’s Jazz Music Department, held a tour in China, Summer 2019

As Mr. Péter Szendőfi, Jazz teacher of KJU, is an international artist of Tama drums since 2015, he got an invitation from Tama Corporations from the headquarters in Japan to do a drum-set clinic tour in China.

As Mr. Péter Szendőfi, Jazz teacher of KJU, is an international artist of Tama drums since 2015, he got an invitation from Tama Corporations from the headquarters in Japan to do a drum-set clinic tour in China, from 18th to the 28th of August 2019,  in 6 cities with 7 different events. The pioneer event was at the Jiangsu Percussion Festival where Mr. Szendőfi had a chance to perform with some of the most famous artists in the world. Subsequently, the company arranged 6 other events in China. He participated in several workshops in music schools, instrument distributions, and festivals, where he performed his self-composed pieces from different musical genres.  The audience was very open-minded and Mr. Szendőfi was astounished by the number of the people who showed high interest of his performance at the events.

Mr. Szendőfi had 2 workshops in music schools for children (from the age of 5 to 14) in Bengbu and Suzhou. In these events, he tried to focus on specific but basic exercises which can help the young adolescents to improve and develop. Moreover, he introduced KJU to the audience, more specifically, about the curriculum of the Drum Department and to what extent the global philosophy of teaching can be useful for the new generations.

Another valuable gain for Mr. Szendőfi was that he made new contacts and new friendships with these schools and event organising institutions. He further stated that he would be glad to share this contact information with KJU to connect with the schools in China, for further potential collaborations.
