How to Apply?
Easy two-step application to KJU
Whether this is your first time to apply, you are transferring from another institution or you are enrolling from another country, we have streamlined the process of application as well as of the admission to make it as clear and quick as possible.
1. Before you get started
- Choose from our Bachelor's or Master's programs the one that suits you best. You will find our program offer here
- Make sure you have reviewed admission criteria before you apply. Consider the option to start your studies with a Preparatory Course.
- Collect your application documents based on our checklist. Remember, you must have an official English translation if the document was issued in another language.
CHECKLIST - Bachelor studies
- High School diploma with the transcript of subjects and grades
- Passport copy
- 1 photo not older than 30 days
- Proof of payment of a non-refundable application fee of 150 EUR. It can be paid by bank transfer or online via SimplePay
- In case you want direct entry to the program:English language certificate (IELTS/TOEFL)
- In case you apply for transfer from another university, in addition to the above-listed documents:
- Certificate of Attendance from your current university
- Transcript of the completed semesters
- Residence Permit in case you apply for transfer from another Hungarian university
CHECKLIST - Master studies
- High School diploma with the transcript of subjects and grades
- Bachelor's degree and transcript of records
- Passport copy
- 1 photo not older than 30 days

Remember:
- to indicate if you wish to get personalized guidance and counseling all along with the application procedure.
- to attach all the documents listed in the checklist and submit your application.
After You Apply
- KJU evaluates your submitted documents and starts the admission procedure only after receiving the application fee of 150 Euro non-refundable.
- KJU will send you the Confirmation of your application and inform you about the details of your entrance exam.
- The Admission Committee issues the Admission Decision and on a successful exam, KJU issues a Conditional Letter including the Terms and Conditions of studying at KJU and the Invoice for the payment of the tuition and accommodation fees. You can check the valid tuition fees here
- Once you have transferred the first installment of the tuition fee, you will receive the final Letter of Acceptance (LOA), Confirmation of Accommodation (COA) and Confirmation of Payment (COP), official documents that you need for visa and residence permit application.
- Complete your visa package and book your visa appointment at the Hungarian Consulate. You will find information about the study visa &residence permit here
- On a successful visa application, you must transfer the second installment of the tuition and accommodation fee a minimum of 5 days before departure so that you get the Entry Certificate from KJU necessary on entering Hungary.
You are ready to travel to Hungary and join the KJU community!
Before and Upon Arrival
- Send us the confirmation of your flight booking details. You will receive a starting package with information about arrival, accommodation arrangements and registration.
- Registration on campus: bring all your attested certificates submitted on application, passport, 1 passport-size photo. On completion of your enrollment, you will become an active KJU student registered in the electronic academic system.
Failure to obtain a student visa: refunds will be considered only if the student can produce a scanned copy of the visa refusal letter from the appropriate Hungarian Embassy or Consulate. Once these documents have been received, and are satisfactory to the University authorities, the refund of the transferred tuition fee will be initiated after the deduction of the 100 Euro administration fee.
